The Primesat C-Band Dual Polarity Orthogonal Feedhorn is a professional-quality feed system designed for C-Band satellite reception using prime-focus satellite dishes.

Unlike a conventional single-polarity feedhorn, this unit incorporates an orthomode transducer (OMT) which separates the incoming horizontally and vertically polarised C-Band signals and directs each polarity to its own independent rectangular waveguide output. Two compatible C-Band block LNBs can therefore be fitted, providing simultaneous reception of both linear polarities without the need to mechanically rotate the feed or switch the polarisation within a conventional LNBF.

The two waveguide outputs are arranged at 90 degrees to one another, corresponding to the two orthogonal linear polarisations. Each output is designed to accept a compatible CPR229 / WR229-type flange C-Band LNB, making the feed suitable for use with professional block LNBs, including suitable standard and 5G-filtered models. CPR229/WR229 is a commonly used flange arrangement for this type of C-Band feed and block LNB installation.

A substantial adjustable scalar ring is incorporated into the assembly. This is designed for correct illumination of a prime-focus reflector and allows the feed position to be adjusted to suit the focal characteristics of the dish.

The heavy-duty cast metal construction and flange-mounted LNB arrangement make this particularly suitable for permanent C-Band installations, professional receiving systems, head-end systems and enthusiast installations where separate access to both horizontal and vertical polarities is required.

With two suitable LNBs installed, each polarity has its own dedicated LNB and coaxial output. This can be particularly useful in distribution and head-end applications where both C-Band polarities need to be available simultaneously.
